Bearing structure

Classical agricultural greenhouses have light steel structures calculated according to the laws in force to bear loads for 10 - 15 years of service life.

Photovoltaic greenhouse can nomore be considered the same as the old classic greenhouse type.

Photovoltaic greenhouses must have at least 25 years of structural wear to survive the photovoltaic plant they bear as roofing.

For this reason photovoltaic greenhouses are calculated for a 30 years service life.

According to the laws in force they are considered CLASS A30 structures.

Calculation codes for greenhouses

Our structures are calculated to bear loads and overloads provided for by the technical codes for constructions (D.M. January 14th 2008)

a)      reference value of the snow load to the ground for altitudes lower than 200 m with a 50 years return period:

AREA 1  -   1,50 kN/m2    (153 kg/m2)

AREA 2  -   1,00 kN/m2   (102 kg/m2)

AREA 3  -   0.60 kN/m2   (61 kg/m2)

b)      Reference speed of wind to the ground for a 50 years return period:

AREA 1 e 2      -  25 m/s (90 km/h)

AREA 3            -  27 m/s (97 km/h)

AREA 4, 5, 6,7 -  28 m/s (100 km/h)

AREA 8            - 30 m/s (108 km/h)

AREA 9            -31 m/s (112 km/h)

Such loads have been reduced according to UNI EN 13031 – 1 (Greenhouses: detailing and construction - greenhouses for commercial production) for the A30 classification.

From the seismic point of view, our structures are calculated to bear the actions according to laws  3274 and following 3316, 3379 e 3431
